Contraindications

Insufficient vertical or buccolingual prosthetic space (<13–15 mm) for implant bar or attachment systems
Poor peri-implant hygiene or high risk of soft tissue inflammation
Inadequate implant distribution or A-P spread for achieving retention and stability

Limitations

Requires significant prosthetic space to accommodate implants, bar/clip systems, and denture base
Attachment systems (Locator, clips, magnets) may require periodic maintenance or replacement
Patient education critical to prevent tissue inflammation and prosthesis complications
Esthetics may be less ideal compared to fixed restorations due to bulk and flange design

Preparation

Accurate digital planning required. Adequate A‑P implant spread, proper occlusal clearance (approximately 15 mm), and soft tissue emergence profiles are essential. Use scan bodies and surgical guides to facilitate precision.
