Improved Jaw Stability

Deprogramming for precise restorative planning

Godent’s anterior deprogrammers are custom-fabricated from digital impressions and designed to separate posterior teeth while guiding the mandible into centric relation. By minimizing elevator muscle activity and eliminating occlusal interferences, they help clinicians obtain accurate bite records and evaluate functional relationships before restorative or full-mouth treatments. Whether used for diagnostics, equilibration, or complex rehab cases, our deprogrammers ensure a relaxed, repeatable jaw position — setting the foundation for long-term occlusal stability.

Specifications for Anterior Deprogrammer

Indications

Used to relieve muscle hyperactivity and assist in diagnosing occlusal issues by temporarily disengaging posterior teeth.

Contraindications

Patients with metal or acrylic allergies
Inadequate retention due to limited palatal anatomy or flat arch forms
Active TMJ pathologies requiring different diagnostic splints
Significant malocclusion not corrected by anterior deprogramming alone

Limitations

Not suitable as a long-term occlusal guard; intended for short‑term diagnostic use only
May cause posterior open bite if worn beyond recommended duration
Retention depends on anatomical undercuts, no additional clasps or attachments used

Preparation

Submit only an intraoral scan of the upper (or lower) arch; include opposing arch if required. Scan must capture occlusal contacts and CR position indices. No physical models or tooth trimming are necessary.
